Abbottabad is a city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of Pakistan. It is located in the north of Islamabad on Karakoram Highway. Lying between hills, it is considered one of the beautiful cities in Pakistan. Though the importance of the city has been diminished in Pakistan by the completion of Karakoram Highway because, in the past, the only track available to reach Karakoram was through Babusar Pass, which in its turn, could only be approached through Abbottabad. Abroad, the city has gained fame as the site where Osama Bin Laden, leader of Al Qaeda, was shot and killed.
