Lampang is a major ceramics centre of Thailand. Up and down highway 11 you will find ceramics factories with outlets. An especially good one is Sangchai Outlet, where you can stock up on all the cockerel-laden bowls you need, along with local goodies like khao tan biscuits. It's common to see out-of-town Thai nationals shopping for souvenirs.
