Detroit is about 25 minutes east. If you're not visiting downtown Detroit, you might want to stop in some of the suburbs. There's a nice movie theatre and good restaurants in nearby Canton; Novi and Troy home of the impressive Somerset Collection mall are good for shopping and Hamtramck has a sizeable Polish population.
