Cope
Siriraj Hospital
This is Thailand's oldest hospital, founded by King Rama V in 1888, two years after a cholera outbreak in Thailand. Currently it is a huge complex that takes up a large swathe of land at the banks of the Chao Phraya. It is part of the Faculty of Medicine of Mahidol University. With more than one million patient visits a year, it is one of the most congested public hospitals of Bangkok. Foreigners can probably better go a private hospital, such as Thonburi Hospital.
Thonburi Hospital
This is a private hospital that can also be visited for smaller sicknesses, such as food poisoning or respiratory infections. When you enter the hospital, you need to register yourself at the counter for a Thonburi Hospital card. The hospital looks clean and professional, but the English level of the doctors is not to write home about.
Phyathai 3 Hospital
This is the Thonburi branch of the Phyathai hospitals. It is a private hospital far on the outskirts of Bangkok. Multiple languages are spoken.
