Currently there are trains only from Izmir to the city. The daily Istanbul service Pamukkale Express was suspended in 2008 due to track renovations, and it is not certain when/if it will re-start service. Check with Turkish State Railways' TCDD website (http://www.tcdd.gov.tr/) for most up-to-date information on this.
