Kaysersberg (http://www.tourisme-alsac...), in Alsace, was an important town in the Middle Ages. It has a large fortress, and the town's name means Emperor's mountain which comes from the fortress. It has wonderfully preserved half timbered houses and is a great setting for any Alsacian Festival due to it's medieval atmosphere.
