The old rail line from Bairnsdale to Newmerella is a cycling, horseriding and walking path called the East Gippsland railtrail (http://www.railtrails.org...). It is a short ride from Newmerella to Orbost along the Princes Highway or minor roads. The trail is 100km in total, and is sealed beyond Nicholson.
